Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
When will my athlete know if she made the team? Athletes will be notified at the end of tryouts. We ask athletes to commit to our club at that time.
When are practices? All teams will practice at least twice a week, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; the development clinics will be once a week.
When and where are the volleyball tournaments? Arizona USAV determines the dates and locations of the tournaments. There are typically 6 seeding tournaments from January to April with the regional championships early in May. Most volleyball tournaments will be held in Phoenix, some in Tucson. Most teams will also attend local single or multi-day tournaments. The end of year Festival tournament in Phoenix during the last week of June is a separate event that will be discussed with each team later in the season.
How many teams? This year we will have 3 teams: 12U, 14U, and 15/16U.
How many athletes are on each team? There are typically 10-12 athletes on a team, depending on the number that tryout and the coach's preferences. There is a potential for practice players who do not travel.
How much does it cost? Cost coming soon for the 2024 volleyball season. This cost does not include the JVA Cactus Classic in January or the AAU Festival tournament the end of June. The club fee does include practice time, coaching, gym fees, uniforms, practice t-shirts, jackets, pants and bags.
When do I pay? You pay the $200 acceptance fee at tryouts and the remaining balance is paid over the remainder of the volleyball season. However, we will work with families and their budgets.
